Evanescence, particularly their lead chick, has gotta be one of the most annoying bands to emerge this decade. We get the goth shtick. You don't have to sound like you're just recovering from the orgasm of your life. Seriously. |

greenhopper,
That first choice of yours is a classic, in some way. That's also my "refuse to grow up" movie (last one of Disney i think i actually watched at the theatre). Although i always liked more the Scar song.
Lleytsie,
Oh, the memories that song brings. "WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!!!" |

greenhopper, I remember watching the "My Immortal" vid about 398 times when it first came out.
Yeah, y'know, go ahead and post your other faves, guys! But for those just coming in - TRY to pick just one to start off, yeah? Just like everyone else had to do? To be fair and all. |

Sorry, Jacko, but Mermaid's got better tunes. Lion King's storyline had some assistance from the Bard, and its OST, while good, is marred by the artificial weight of the "exotic." |

Here's a music vid - and song - I'm quite fond of, with a lil' description (I meant to include this in the post but cut it at the last minute because I couldn't very well disobey my own guideline about ONE):
"How Does It Make You Feel" by Air
A really artsy-fartsy production by the French electronica/trip hop duo - perhaps excessively so - but undoubtedly mesmerizing. And all too fitting for one heckuva weird song. Keep an eye out for French model Audrey Marnay, too - she's exquisite.

Chillaxing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG8eQBSp9Ao
Personal, for anyone who is away from their hometown, this may just break your heart. The singer is the late Luke Kelly, whose voice is just so emotive, this song may be especially touching for Irish people, but I think everyone can relate:

Now that my oldest son is almost 14, we get to play "what's the greatest video of all time" on a semi-regular basis.
This always makes the top 10, if not the top 5, although good taste may well differ.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTugeLRZ6G
Considering pretty much all videos break down into either (1) the band playing the song, (ii) the band acting out some theme related to the song, or (iii) some story concept related to the song, without the band in it at all, I still think this holds up.
I mean, George Michael has a point, why not just hire the hottest supermodels you can find and be done with it?
Jeez, the bone structure on Christy Turlington's face is worth seeing for six minutes. Although, I must say, I think the chaps featured in the video are nowhere near as famous as the gals. Probably due to sexism in the modelling industry.
Although you'd think George Michael, of all people, would find some hot male models. |
