Imjimmy My thoughts exactly.Good night.
RG Sam is still to tentative with her shot selection on grass for me,even in this tournament she has been up and down. She "overthinks".If she can play freely she may have a good chance.Get the serve going then her ground shots will follow. |

From AP, Kobe's owning up:
Bryant said he had to downplay the magnitude of the rivalry during the series, but he came clean on the podium with his daughters, Natalia and Gianna.
“I was just lying to you guys,” Bryant said. “When you’re in the moment, you have to suppress that … but you guys know what a student I am of the game. I know every series the Lakers have played in, and I know every Celtics series. I know every statistic. It meant the world to me, but I couldn’t focus on that. I had to focus on playing.”
More proof that Artest is a certifiable nut:

RG Sam has never got past the 3rd rd at Wimby, though after her good results at RG this may well give her the confidence
Also she has made the q/finals at Eastbourne twice
After my disappointment at RG though Fran deserved her win
I will just wait and see. |

loved fed's and rafa's shoes... must haves...

i slept through the finals... im just sensing that lakers are getting to bostons defenses... and boston cant be aggressive enough when the chance presents to them
@wimby...
AM, whod you think is more dangerous on grass given their recent forms??? kimmy or juju???... who would land in serena or vee's draw???... thinks it would be exciting if somehow these ladies play in any rounds, even in the finals...

C'mon, Hewitt, Murray, and Roddick (or Sod) in Fed's half! I am willing them into it. Who's with me? Time to end Fed's magnificent QF streak at majors! What better way to do it at a place where it all started? |

RG What players do you think might withdraw
Pat Well Kimmy was playing well till she got compeition with Azarenka, last night she looked very vunerable
I havent see Justine on the grass, its soo hard to get a handle on form with such few lead up tournaments before Wimby
I will say at this stage Justine |

Fed's dream draw re-post:
F- Rafa
SF- Murray
QF- Roddick
4th- Hewitt
3rd- Isner or out of mind F. Lopez
2rd- Xavier Malisse or Benjamin Becker
1st- doesn't matter.
Ha Ha Ha. Take that, Fed. |

@wimby10
im for someone new too at wimby... though i would never mind if its still fed/rafa tkaing the title.. but i love seeing new ones hoisting the title... love that RAndy would hoist the title somehow, a la, goran!!!... or nole taking it, proving to tennis world that he's not done and dusted... or for andy m, for just pure awesomeness with that head ad!!!....
also we have ernest, jo willy, or berdych, so i hope a good in will start here at wimby!!!.. and hopes they build on that...
@AM
saw that match too... seems like kimmy is not that comfortable moving in grass.. and has flubbed many returns from strong serves of vika...
but mind you AM, have some *conspiracy theory* regarding that loss... maybe kimmy purposely lose that round to vika so that she can acclimatize better to wimby grounds, feel the bounce and the atmosphere of the courts, so that she can better prepare for a fortnight at wimby... or, she just wants to be out, so can never be late at wta party, though she didnt show up.... ehheehhehe |

What's with all these quitting before major trends? First with French open and now this? In case you didn't keep on tracking the quitters: Ancic, Gonzo, Karlovic, Gasquet, Nalbandian, and Stepanek. Not to mention Delpo, Tommy Hsss (SF last year).
Are they literally protesting to shorten the season? Nice try, but won't work. |

First thing, First: C'mon, Murray in Fed's half! C'mon, C'mon. I know Murray is not playing well, but neither is Djoker. Between the two, I don't trust Djoker's health, so he'll probably lose before SF and give free pass to someone like Melzer or Hass last year. |

|
Posted by Wimby 2010 |
06/18/2010 at 05:09 AM |
C'mon, man we all know that Djoker and Murray can't beat Fed in a major, especially on "grass". So the question becomes who would Rafa rather face. The answer is neither, so that leaves which one would likely lose before SF. And my answer is Djoker!! Maybe he'll outdo himself and retire in 2nd round! He hasn't done that yet. Also he only needs to retire at US open to complete his grand slam retirement!! Now that's a achievement at such young age! |

Yeah, Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam that doesn't have computerized randomization of non-seeded players. Usually only seeded players are drawn. |

phew, at least Roddick and hewitt are both in Fed's half. But why do they have to be in Djoker's QT! This mean Fed will only have to face one of the three.. This sucks. My dream Fed's draw crumbled. Crumbled, I tell ya! |
|

06/18/2010 at 05:18 AM |
looks like F Lopez, Tsonga, and Ferrero in Murray's QT. |
|

06/18/2010 at 05:18 AM |
Verdasco-Murray and Soderling-Nadal are the bottom quarters. |

Isner is the toughest in the early rounds. |

Rafa is playing Kei Nishikori in the first round. They had a wonderful match at Queens in 2007 or 08. Nishikori has had a lot of injuries since. |
|
Posted by Wimby 2010 |
06/18/2010 at 05:26 AM |
Oh, okay, it was Nishikori. Heard it as Q-man for some reason. Nishikori will be tough, but he's not playing well since he came back and he kept retiring last few tourneys.
Blake also is tough, but he also just came back and last in his 1st match. So that's okay, too. But Isner is a trouble. And Gulbis, Youz, Sod, Murray, and Fed. Geez, Rafa you dead. |

AM, yes I know how hard it's been for him. I was very disappointed because I enjoyed watching him so much.
The player I feel sorry for is Falla - imagine drawing Roger three times in a row. Roger may get his wish and be through the match and press by 3 o'clock in time to watch Switzerland kick off!!! I secretly hope it won't be so quick as I shall be there to see it. |

This blows, my dream Fed draw totally sank. Not one round draw happened. On the other hand, if you want Rafa to go through hell, you've got it.
Isner (hopefully low bounce will bother him, a lot)
Sod (hopefully a let down?)
Gublis (still injured?)
Nishikori and Blake (still rusty from recent comebacks)
Murray (maybe he chokes again)
Rafa should handle Youz on grass.
Where did Q=man landed, by the way? |

so Henin is in Clijster's QT. Henin probably needs to beat both Petrova and Clijsters to get out of the QT. Also potentially Venus williams in SF and Serena in Final. phew. Sorry Henin, you probably won't do it this year.
