About Steve Tignor

Steve Tignor began playing tennis at age 8 on a family vacation in Vermont. He couldn't take a single game from his dad but he was great at sweeping the courts afterward. He is a 1992 graduate of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where he helped the team win the 1990 NCAA Division III championship. He joined TENNIS Magazine in 1998 and was named Executive Editor in May 2006. He also authors Concrete Elbow by Steve Tignor, a daily blog on TENNIS.com, and has written about tennis or music for Slate.com, SPIN Magazine and the Village Voice.
